Lots of work done! Plenty to go!
So, we have had a very productive week this week, working with chief editor Christine, we have managed to get a good amount of content onto several important pages, giving us the ability to provide much sort after information to both those in the parish family and the wider community. Not to say that other pages that have yet to be done are not important, it is just a case of trying to prioritise what we can based on the information we currently have. You also may have noticed some design element changes around the fonts we are using on the site - after feedback we have decided to change this to what you see now, which hopefully will be easier to read and creates a nice, clean aesthetic.
From a technical perspective, Rhys has changed the entire site over to "https" from "http" (it is now encrypted and more secure). The result gained from this is intended to provide benefits like confidentiality, integrity and identity. Your information remains confidential from prying eyes because only your browser and the server can decrypt the traffic, because we can be confident in the integrity of the site, this allows us to protect the data from being modified without our knowledge. Also, Google will rank secure website higher in search results, which will hopefully help us become easier to find!
The website has changed! What’s happening? - An update from Rhys
Welcome to the new look website! We are still in the early stages of development however we decided to bring the new site online prior to it being finished as the hosting for the old site was about to come to an end (unless we paid for a whole year of hosting with it). So in order to save this additional cost we have brought the new site online early.
We look forward to feedback from our parishioners over the coming month as we make ongoing daily (if not hourly) changes.
Do not be alarmed if something changes on the website while you are looking about, Rhys often makes changes live that show up right away! If he happens to break something or if it looks a bit odd suddenly, he will fix it very fast! So just refresh the page or check back within a few minutes.
Rhys will be updating this page weekly with new updates on what is happening to the site and reporting back on any recommendations.
He will also attempt to stop referring to himself in the 3rd person, but no promises!
